Girls Weekend

I'm so thankful this Holiday Season for my wonderful friends. I met each of these girls my freshmen year, one of whom, was my pot luck roommate. (Ali) It's amazing to watch our friendships grow, and I am so genuinely thankful for each of them. We are all so very different but all so much alike.

Over the past 10 years I have enjoyed each stage of our friendships. The most special time, in my opinion, is right now. Watching your friends become mothers is so touching. I have enjoyed becoming an Aunt several times, and look forward to watching these precious angels grow.

This past weekend we had another girls weekend at Wild Dunes but this time we brought our precious children. I was lucky enough to be able to make it to IOP early in the afternoon on Friday to enjoy lunch at Poe's with a few of the girls and babies. Friday we ordered in pizza for dinner and enjoyed an afternoon/evening of bonding.

Saturday morning we were up early and enjoyed a nice long walk around Wild Dunes. We ended the walk with a brief trip to the beach, so Lainey could check out the ocean. Saturday afternoon we enjoyed brunch at Taco Mamacita's. I enjoyed a light salad, so I could make room for Chef Melinda, who cooked for us on Saturday night! Great times were had by all!

James 1: 13-15

Thought I would share some biblical insight since I am truly enjoying my new bible study. We are studying creation and the fall of Man. During my devotion this morning, I was asked to read James 1:13-15. I have studied these verses before on multiple accounts, but never after reading thoroughly through Genesis 3. I find it very interesting when people and myself sometimes blame others for their sin. We often point fingers blaming others for things we said, didn't say, things we did that we regret, etc. These verses layout explicitly that God does not "tempt" man. It is the devil/sin/your inside telling you to sin. God tests us, but never tempts. We sometimes let temptation overcome us, but if we turn to the Lord during these temptations from the devil, then we will not succumb to sin.

We are all sinners, as it is something I battle with everyday, we all do, but knowing and having the Lord in your heart will help you through these temptations.

Fun October

The month of October was very special for Charlie and me. I spent a weekend in Richmond visiting family, Charlie and I went to our first Clemson game of the season, we spent a few days in Greenville visiting friends and seeing new babies, we went to Woodlands Plantation the last weekend in October, visited family in Bishopville and in Mooresville, and most importantly we have been very involved in two new bible studies.

Life is so sweet, and I am so thankful God put Charlie in my life. Below are a few pictures of the last month. Our calendar is full the next 7 weeks leading up to Christmas. I am so thankful our 2nd year of marriage has been a true blessing.

A scripture lesson I read the other morning and loved... something to think about.

1 Corinthians 16:13 "Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be men of courage, be strong.
