Clemson Weekend

Charlie and I decided last minute to go to the Clemson game on Saturday. We typically are not last minute people, (well maybe he is, but I am definitely not, I know what I am doing 6 weeks from now,) but we decided to go last minute since I was in Greenville for work on Thursday & Friday. After my conference Friday morning, I spent the afternoon with Lauren and precious Lainey. I also got to spend time with Ali Poole and Millan! :) These babies make me happy! Friday evening we all made it out to Fall for Greenville and had a great time. Since I was adamant on getting to Clemson early, Charlie and I were asleep before midnight.

Clemson is a place that is very near and dear to my heart. Although I did not meet Charlie until after college, we both shared the same experience as we both were active in Greek Life and enjoyed the full Clemson experience. I am so thankful he and I are both Clemson grads, as it makes football season that much more fun! :)

RICHMOND

My Mama and I had the best girls weekend with my Aunt's in Richmond. I love long weekend getaways where its just close enough to drive. I took a vacation day last Friday, so we could leave early. I made my way to Mooresville in the early afternoon on Thursday, so I could enjoy an evening with my family. It's been a long time since just the four of us had supper together around Mama's dinner table. My Mom always enjoys cooking a southern meal when I come home, although my waistline doesn't like it, I sure enjoy her cooking!

When we got to Richmond on Friday for lunch we met my Aunt at her office at Altria. Instead of going somewhere local to eat, we ate in her cafeteria and enjoyed a 3 hour lunch with her coworkers, and had a ball.  My Aunt sure does have an awesome job and an awesome boss! :)

Friday afternoon, Mom, Aunt KK and I enjoyed an evening on her porch with a glass of vino and lots of bonding. We ventured out for supper Friday evening to a local spot called Toast. I enjoyed a "healthier "wrap and these amazing sweet potato tots! Think I had enough tots to share with 4 people!

Saturday morning, I was up early, reading and enjoying my cup of joe! After a 2 hour walk around the neighborhood we made our way to the famous brunch spot, Dots Back Inn. This name cracks me up a bit since I am know as "Dot," and the food did not disappoint. I might add that I enjoyed two mimosas before our trek into town...

Saturday afternoon we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the James River and downtown. It was perfect, as the weather had just the amount of coolness I enjoy during the Fall. Saturday evening we dined at a neighborhood favorite, Chianti, Ristorante & Pizzeria. I have to say, I did not eat my entire entrĂ©e, (see pics below), but hands down one of my top 10 favorite Italian restaurants.

Sunday morning, we enjoyed another morning of bonding and coffee and ended the trip at a fun spot near the campus of VCU and close to Monument Avenue. Joe's Inn is a precious neighborhood brunch spot where all the local college students come on Saturday and Sunday mornings after a late night. Reminded me of my fun years at Clemson! Great weekend! Still catching up on my rest!
