The Most Wonderful Time

Charlie and I had an amazing Christmas celebrating the birth of Jesus with my family. We enjoyed a relaxing 5 days and are excited to ring in the New Year on Wednesday. A true tradition at the Lyerly home is attending the Candlelight service at Prospect Christmas Eve night. We made it just in time for supper before going to church. Every time I go home I always stay up too late and get out of my normal routine, and when we get home, I always crash! (I am still not rested)!

Christmas morning Charlie and I enjoyed a long morning walk followed by Santa delivering  gifts to Adam, Charlie and me. He is always too good to us! Santa hosted the best Christmas meal on Christmas Day full of the traditional goodies and even made the most amazing pound cake I have ever had! Christmas night we spent the evening on the porch at the lake by heaters. This is probably one of my favorite places to relax. I can't wait for warmer weather...

Friday, of course, we had to hit the after Christmas sales. Charlie lucked up and got a new pair of boots! Friday night we celebrated my Mama's birthday at KK and CC's and enjoyed great steaks and great company. I think Mama's favorite part of the night was her delicious cake by Queen City Pastry.  Saturday afternoon Charlie and I left Mooresville and headed to Camden to celebrate with his family and spent the day on Sunday hosting his family at our home. We truly had a great Christmas and a great 2014. We are beyond blessed with wonderful family and friends.

Christmas Festivities

The last three weeks have been so much fun celebrating the Holidays. I'm hoping to get a new camera after Christmas, so I will have a lot better photos for my blog posts. This year we will be spending  Christmas with my family in Mooresville. Charlie and I are in charge of the smoked Ham (Charlie's smoked Ham is the best I have EVER had). Mama is hosting the entire family at her house and we will end the day with our traditional movie visit, in hopes to see Unbroken.

Friday we will be celebrating Mama's 56th Birthday at the Lake. She doesn't know this yet, but she is getting some very nice gifts this year! Ones she will be able to use for a long time! :)

Below are a few pics from the last few weekends. Again, once I get my NEW camera I will have a lot better pictures and more of them!

Mimms Thanksgiving, Clemson & preparing for Christmas!!

The last two weeks have been quite hectic for Charlie and me. I love this time of the year but boy have we been burning up and down the highway. I am looking forward to the next three weeks here in Columbia. We have lots of Christmas parties to attend, a showing of the Nutcracker, a fun shopping trip to Charlotte, Christmas in Mooresville, and a fun trip to the Grove Park to cap off the New Years in style!

Charlie asked me to make a Christmas list this year. It feels so odd making a list of things I really want. Last year we decided not to give gifts, as we get and buy things we want throughout the year. However this year we are giving gifts to each other! I have been on the hunt for the perfect gift(s) for Charlie and a few of them are already wrapped and under the tree! :)

Below are a few pictures from the past three weekends. Thanksgiving in Bishopville was a treat, as my parents came to celebrate with the Mimms's and Couch's too!

Girls Weekend

I'm so thankful this Holiday Season for my wonderful friends. I met each of these girls my freshmen year, one of whom, was my pot luck roommate. (Ali) It's amazing to watch our friendships grow, and I am so genuinely thankful for each of them. We are all so very different but all so much alike.

Over the past 10 years I have enjoyed each stage of our friendships. The most special time, in my opinion, is right now. Watching your friends become mothers is so touching. I have enjoyed becoming an Aunt several times, and look forward to watching these precious angels grow.

This past weekend we had another girls weekend at Wild Dunes but this time we brought our precious children. I was lucky enough to be able to make it to IOP early in the afternoon on Friday to enjoy lunch at Poe's with a few of the girls and babies. Friday we ordered in pizza for dinner and enjoyed an afternoon/evening of bonding.

Saturday morning we were up early and enjoyed a nice long walk around Wild Dunes. We ended the walk with a brief trip to the beach, so Lainey could check out the ocean. Saturday afternoon we enjoyed brunch at Taco Mamacita's. I enjoyed a light salad, so I could make room for Chef Melinda, who cooked for us on Saturday night! Great times were had by all!
