It's Daddy's Day

I love celebrating any occasion. I love making people feel good, and I especially love making my family and friends feel loved. Margaret and I had a wonderful weekend with Daddy. Charlie deserves more than a day of thanks, as I try to encourage and thank him everyday for all he does for Margaret and me.

I never go to sleep at night feeling unloved or wondering why he doesn't put us first. It's clear on all levels that Charlie's number one priority is Margaret and me, and for that, I am so thankful and blessed.

Charlie often reminds me of 1 Corinthians 11 "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God."

We love a family and friend filled weekend. We enjoyed a fun/HOT dinner Friday night with the Burley's followed by a fun filled day on Saturday of playing/running/shopping, while Dada played golf, and Saturday evening we went to Bishopville to see Margaret's name sake and spend Father's Day morning with Papa. Margaret loved her first golf cart ride and seeing his farm. It was a perfect Sunday morning.

We celebrated Dada Sunday afternoon with a LONG nap and a dinner out! Just what he requested!

Lyerly Beach Week!

The Lyerly Clan just got back from a week long trip to Garden City Beach. The weather was perfect, and I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing trip. I chuckle, as I just typed this because with a six month old there isn't a lot of relaxing, but the odds were for me because there were 9 adults and 1 child. :)

My parents rented a house on the inlet, which was perfect for us to have access to the water for kayaking, fishing and watching the sunset. Margaret had a terrible cold at the beginning of the trip, but with medication and rest, she was ready and back to her old self by Tuesday.

You can't go to Murrells Inlet without a dinner at the good ol' Lee's Inlet Kitchen, where we happened to stumble upon on Monday evening for my Dad's 60th Birthday. As an enormous gift, my Mom stayed behind to watch Margaret because she was not feeling well for an evening out on the town. Throughout the week we enjoyed grilling out, kayaking, reading, relaxing, beach afternoons, walking, running, biking and good ol' southern fried seafood. I had a wonderful time, and can't wait to go back.

After purchasing a very expensive fancy camera, I find myself still using my iPhone. I am destined to keep our Nikon with me, but as a lot of photographers told me, nothing beats your camera phone! I'm pretty sure all of these were taken with my iPhone.
